Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 modem and router runtime

For a constant 20W combined load, our energy model gives 25.0–39.5 hours. That is a calculated range, not a hands-on result: the unit’s low-load shutdown settings can stop power much sooner.

Check that it is the same 1000 v2

This example uses the US Explorer 1000 v2, with 1070Wh rated capacity and 1500W continuous AC output at 120V/60Hz. It does not describe the separately named HomePower 1000 v2 or a battery with expansion capacity. These figures come from Jackery’s product specifications and its US JE-1000D manual.

The 1500W figure is an output limit, not stored energy. For a small constant network load, capacity and the battery’s own overhead matter more to the energy estimate. Neither figure proves that your devices will stay online during a power transfer.

Modeled runtime at three example loads

The table assumes a full battery, no recharging during the outage, 70–85% delivered energy and 3–10W of battery-side idle overhead. All connected AC equipment shares this one battery. The loads are illustrative; measure your own equipment.

Energy-only estimates for 1070Wh; automatic shutdown is not modeled
Combined equipment loadModeled runtime
10W37.5–70.0 hours
20W25.0–39.5 hours
30W18.7–27.6 hours

At 20W, the lower-runtime scenario is 1070 × 0.70 ÷ (20 + 10), or about 25 hours. The higher-runtime scenario is 1070 × 0.85 ÷ (20 + 3), or about 39.5 hours. These assumptions are not Jackery efficiency measurements, guaranteed bounds or a compatibility certification.

The low-load setting can matter before the battery is empty

Check Energy Saving Mode before relying on a long estimate.

The US manual says this mode starts enabled and lists AC loads of 25W or less for shutdown after 12 hours. Both the 10W and 20W examples sit within that threshold. Check the current manual and your unit’s settings; an energy-only calculation cannot override automatic shutdown.

The manual also describes a transfer to battery within 20ms, rather than an instantaneous transfer. It calls for compatibility testing and recommends one connected device for that use. Do not treat this multi-device energy calculation as a claim that an ONT and router will remain uninterrupted. See the manual’s power-saving and UPS guidance on printed page 03.

Map all the equipment before choosing the capacity

A large battery in the office cannot power an ONT left without backup in the hallway. Plan each independent source separately, and include every required modem, router, switch or mesh node. AT&T’s voice-backup guidance illustrates the separate-ONT issue; it does not guarantee internet availability during an outage.

If your target is eight hours at a measured 20W load, our capacity example is only 217–343Wh under the two assumptions. That does not make a smaller product automatically compatible, but it is a reason to calculate your requirement before buying a 1070Wh unit. Follow the eight-hour sizing example or compare a battery you already own.

In the planner, enter measured operating watts, choose the real power location for each box, and select Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 as that location’s backup. Edit the assumptions when you have better evidence. Your provider’s outside network still has to remain powered and connected.
