Narrow down the next step

A guided check based on what you observe. This does not scan your network or confirm an outage.

WHEN THE CONNECTION RETURNS

Plan for the next interruption.

Power backup and an alternative internet connection solve different problems. A battery can power your equipment; it cannot repair your provider’s network. A cellular backup also depends on coverage, service and power.

Common questions

Can you tell whether my neighborhood is down?

No. This page directs you to provider tools and helps you interpret your own observations. It does not have an independent live neighborhood feed. Use the official address or account check for information about your service. Missing outage information does not prove that your connection is healthy.

Should I factory-reset my router?

Do not factory-reset equipment just because internet access is down. A factory reset can erase settings and does not repair a provider outage. Check provider status first and follow the provider’s exact instructions for your equipment.

Why not just ping the provider’s website?

A working website and a household access line can use different systems. A website responding to a check from another server does not establish that your home connection works.
